Every year we like to stimulate our Branches with friendly competitions and challenges to keep them active and focussed.  Any member of our Region is invited to enter the competitions.

The first competition set annually is The North West Regional Broderers’ Cup Competition which is judged every year by the regional members at the AGM in October.  This particular competition is only open to the branch that hosts the Annual Regional Day that year and part of the winner’s prize is to have their piece/design on the cover of the annual Journal which is accessible to all members of our Regional Branches.

Our second competition set annually is The Rose Bowl Competition, which is presented to the winner of the theme voted by members at the Regional Day for members.  The winner receives gift vouchers by the Host Branch of Regional Day and certificates are awarded by the Regional Committee.  The theme for 2015 is “Something old, something new”.

Finally, our third competition is the Coats Anchor Competition and Coats Anchor awards three prizes for work that is stitched using (some) of their threads.  Usually this competition is judged by external judges.  Certificates are awarded by the Regional Committee.

For 2015, Chelford Branch will be hosting our Regional Day on Saturday 25th April 2015.  Check our news section or What’s On section for further details and watch this space for details of entries and the winning piece of embroidery, which will be detailed on the cover of our 2016 Journal.

For 2014, Rochdale Branch hosted the Regional Day and what an amazing selection of wonderful creativity.  Here is the winner for 2014, check out our News Page for further details.
