I had a thoroughly enjoyable visit to Merseyside branch yesterday. The members were very welcoming and I joined in making Christmas decorations for my non-existing tree- good fun though.
My main reason for visiting was to present Vicky Williams with her 25yr badge and certificate, and she was particularly thrilled with receiving them as you can see by the photo below-
I managed to win 3 items on the tombola & a very blingy owl to go onto a bag from the Pass the Parcel stall. I also bought items from the sales stall, Rubina Porter stall and food stall. Good job I took some cash!!!
The pass the parcel stall was very intriguing, as every layer of paper revealed a hidden prize, and I could not wait to see the last special prize to be revealed- a little gold work brooch . It was won by a YE member who gave it as a present, two very pleased little girls. See photo below (permission given my their Mum)- also see the lovely photo of the YE display of work-
Here are also some photos of the hands-on tables.
There were also displays of the members workshop pieces, a voting competition and a sale of bags- please ignore my sample concertina book of ‘Positivity’ which was mistakenly given a voting number- that would have been embarrassing had I won???
All in all a very enjoyable experience- thanks so much for inviting me. x
