‘Moving Memories’ workshop with Anne Kelly
Travel, memory and collections remind us of places we have been or would like to visit. Make a personal and meaningful repository for a special place (actual or imagined) of your choice. Working from techniques explored in her new book ‘Textile Travels’, Anne will be using printing, fabric collage, fabric and paper lamination, hand and/or machine stitching. Look through your collections, selecting old and new pieces of fabric, ephemera and decorative paper to use for your piece.
Sewing machine (optional)
A variety of sewing threads, spare needles and scissors
Hand Stitching Kit (needles and embroidery thread)
Acrylic or fabric paint (small selection)
Pritt stick (glue sticks)
Palettes or card to put paint on
Sponge for cutting up (not natural)
It’s helpful if you choose a colour scheme(s) when choosing your materials, choose your favourite pieces and a theme – a place, time or family memory that you would like to celebrate
Printing blocks relating to your theme if you have them
