The day could not have been better, the weather was just right (not too cold or too hot), the venue and staff were great, the food very tasty, the traders were pleased with their takings, and we had a good array of competition pieces and displays.

James Fox, our speaker, was excellent, very amusing and extremely passionate about textiles and art. His work is quirky, but well executed.

The event was fairly well attended, with 142 members from the Region. I think some of the new members who have never attended a Regional Day, will now be tempted to attend future events.

My thanks go to the Regional Committee, and especially to the Branch members who helped on the day.

Parbold, Glossop, Rochdale and Pendle. Also to the Branch members who made a raffle bag & filled it to the brim!!! We did extremely well on the raffle, and that was really down to the array of beautiful themed raffle bags and of course our persuasive members selling the tickets.

The display of Regional work, and the work from Glossop Branch looked really good, and gave members an opportunity to look, discuss and enjoy the pieces at their leisure.

My congratulations go to all the winners of the Competitions-
