The NWR AGM was held on Saturday 3rd November at Barton Village Hall. The day went well, with good numbers attending, plenty of displays of work by the Branches, a great raffle & EG sales table.
The Regional Peacock hanging, everlasting landscapes & now fully completed Travelling Book were also on display.
The morning started with the business part, with reports from committee members and a very heartfelt report from Muriel Campbell Chair of the Trustees.
We then read out the winning nomination for the Amy Williams Award, which was rightly won by Valerie Cockcroft from N Wales. She was then presented with her money award.
Nicola Parmenter won the Broderers Cup, and as it has been decided not to produce a journal this year, the photo of her work will be shown on the home page of the NWR website for the next year. It will also appear on future newsletters etc.
25 year badges were awarded to Joy madden- Manchester, Margaret Mills- Macclesfield & Marilyn Brown- Cumberland.
We said a fond farewell to Jennifer Graham and Sue Turner who have given their time and expertise to the Regional Committee, and have been a great help to me personally through my first very eventful year!
However Beverly Elliott was voted in as Secretary, joined by Tori Riley as IT and Mary Seaman. So currently we have 8 members on the Regional Committee. I know they will do a great job, and hopefully enjoy their new roles.
We also allocated the colour raffle bags to branches for the fothcoming AGM/Regional Day on Saturday 28th September 2019. Should be a bumper crop of lovely bags & goodies.
The afternoon session was lead by Sandra Kendall who always does a great job, and was enjoyed by all the members- It was based on HOLES.
This is just a short summary & hopefully the full minutes will be added on the website as soon a we can.
