We have just been advised that Sandra Kedzlie sadly passed away in July this year. She had been a member of the Embroiderers Guild for many years, serving on branch committees and as NW Regional Chair for a period of time.
She helped many members with their progression in textiles and embroidery, and will be sadly missed.
I am saddened to report that Sandra Kedzlie died suddenly on July 26th 2020.
She was a much loved and respected member of the Parbold Branch of the Embroiderers Guild.
She came from Newport in South Wales and trained after leaving school in Accountancy. But it was in Art and Textiles that she found where her talents lay.
After marrying Michael she lived in various parts of the country. She was a member of the Banbury branch of the Guild as well as one in Northhampton before moving to Banks over 20 years ago.
She obtained her City and Guilds in Embroidery and went on to teach that course as well as running various classes. She challenged her students to think out of the box and try new and adventurous techniques. She gave willingly of her expertise, knowledge and skills.
Sandra was Chairman and member of the Parbold branch of the Guild as well as serving at various times on committees at Regional level. She had a membership goal as Chairman and easily reached her 50 goal. She established the branch as a centre of excellence.
She taught at workshops and was great fun to have as a teacher.
She will be sadly missed. A great teacher, colleague innovator and friend.
